(154 22nd ave @ First….go around back to
back door, front door is not commonly used).
Hey Y’all,
This next meeting we will be discussing the Dealing With Our Shit
(DWOS) zine. If interested, your homework is to read the zine and be
prepared for discussion of it on the 15th. You don’t have to know it
inside and out, but we feel it might serve as a really great catalyst
for discussion.
we will be discussing readings from the DWOS zine
(download web readable version)
Furthermore, if you have been attending these meetings, aspire to
attend these meetings or are in anyway stoked or interested in these
meetings, please send me an email. The reason being that I am working on a blurb that i want to run past folks for feedback…and that we should know each others’ emails anyways (if we all feel comfortable).
I have some ideas and the more the further i get, the more feedback i
desire. anyrage!…hope you are well! last meeting was awesome! and i hope we continue the momentum!

* we understand gender as fluid. However, we are working towards a
dialogue that we can create amongst those commonly less involved in the struggles to end sexual assault//rape culture and Patriarchy. All are welcome to participate and we particularly encourage anyone who has ever, at any point identified as masculine-gendered or as a man. This is not to organize with exclusion, rather to share perspective with//of those who are less commonly targeted from the oppression we seek to undo.
p.s. seeking feedback on the asterisk-ed statement above….//in general.

DWOS Dealing With Our Shit- a cis and trans men’s group-Coming to Seattle!

DWOS8×10flier
Vi from DWOS (Dealing With Our Shit) Minneapolis – December 16 @ 7:30pm People’s Republic of Koffee Capitol Hill
What?
Six years ago in the aftermath of the Minnehaha Free State and a vigorous wave of antiglobal-capitalist organizing in the Twin Cities, male identified members of these communities organized DWOS Dealing With Our Shit- a cis and trans men’s group-to confront male privilege and misogyny in themselves, the scene, and the larger patriarchal culture.
DWOS formed out of the accountability processes in several cases of sexual violence that the community were responding to as isolated incidents. They worked to develop better tools so they weren’t responding in crisis mode every time this occured. Over time this took the form of peer mentoring. This gathering is to meet and learn from one of their founders about what worked, what didn’t, and all that they’ve tried so far.
Pick up a copy of DWOS’s new zine with members’ reflections on their work interviews art and revolution. (100+ pps.)
<a href="“>150 page web readable format pdf.
Who?
You / NW people of all genders / male-identified people actively fighting internalized sexism, racism, and homophobia, and challenging rape culture and building communities of resistance.
